Avinash and me!

Avinash and meYeah, it’s been how many days after the SF E-metrics but I still haven’t blogged about my experience there. It’s been overwhelming and I wanted to get my hands dirty at once before I forget everything, so I’ve been busy with work. But, this is to prove that I am getting the ball rolling… On the first night at E-metrics, I got to chat with one of the best in the industry! Mission accomplished on Day 1!

E-metrics at San Francisco

Emetrics I resolved to blog live at the event, but I was overwhelmed with all the things I have learned - some I heard for the first time, some I have been reading and experiencing first hand already. I was also star struck seeing all the Web Analytics Rockstars like Eric Peterson and of course, Avinash Kaushik, that I really didn’t turn my attention away from them even for a sec.

The Summit was held from May 5-7 at the Palace Hotel here in San Francisco. The three-day event was filled with insights and knowledge that you couldn’t get anywhere. It was indeed a privilege to be able to come.

I validated a lot of things when I was listening to the talks. I attended sessions that I believed would be beneficial to me and to my organization. Of course I was also assessing my level of expertise, I didn’t want to just stare at all them :) The key takeaways is that Web Analytics is evolving, much like Web 2.0, there is Web Analytics 2.0. The industry is adapting and changing rapidly. As web analysts, it is up to us to make our mark.

The web analyst plays a very vital role to the growth of your business. It is also multiple in essence. Not only do we get to be reporter, we also get to be the storyteller. We can be decision maker too at the same time. With all these, sometimes identity crisis arise. I know that. But with the core function of delivering insights and understanding to your web data, we couldn’t go wrong. Yeah, we can’t.

I will be sharing my learnings with you soon on this space. Just let me take the time to squeeze my sponge. I’m so full. :)

Web Analtyics Basecamp

Today is the Web Analytics Basecamp of the E-metrics Summit here at the Palace Hotel in San Francisco’s Market St. I was looking forward to meeting a lot of first time comers and I was not disappointed. I actually met two Filipinas in the session but they were both born and raised in the US already. I still remain the Philippine representative then. Heh. Registration went smoothly and they gave away a goody-bag with lots of vendor materials and information in it. As expected.
